Can the Phoenicians be called the discoverers of new lands?

Throughout its existence, the Phoenician state was famous for its excellent trade with other Mediterranean states, and was also one of the main colonial states of its time.

More than 2,500 years ago, the Phoenician fleet first circled the African continent and returned back to the Mediterranean.

Along the entire coast of Africa, the Red and Mediterranean Sea, they built seaports, which served not only as a resting place and a warehouse for provisions, but also were the center of trade with other states.
