Can the sine and cosine of the same number be equal to 0.4 and 0.7, respectively?

To check, we use the basic trigonometric identity:
sin ^ 2x + cos ^ 2x = 1.
Substitute the values specified by the condition in the left side of the identity:
0.4 ^ 2 + 0.7 ^ 2 = 0.16 + 0.49 = 0.65.
It turned out that the sum of the squares of the sine and cosine is not equal to one, therefore, the sine and cosine of the same number cannot be equal to 0.4 and 0.7, respectively.
