| 1) To obtain sulfur (IV) oxide, it is necessary to carry out a reaction between sulfur and oxygen:
S + O2 → SO2;
2) Sulfur oxide (IV) reacts with water, and sulfurous acid is formed:
SO2 + H2O → H2SO3;
3) Sulfurous acid interacts with calcium hydroxide, it turns out – water and calcium sulfite:
H2SO3 + Ca (OH) 2 → CaSO3 + 2H2O;
4) When calcium sulfite and barium chloride interact, calcium chloride and barium sulfite are formed:
CaSO3 + BaCl2 → CaCl2 + BaSO3.
