Causes of NATO military action in Afghanistan?

The official reason for the outbreak of NATO hostilities in Afghanistan was the liberation of the territory of this country from radical Islamist organizations such as the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. Particular attention was paid to members of the al-Qaeda terrorist group, who had to be captured in order to appear before international courts. NATO countries claimed that al-Qaeda was using the territory of Afghanistan to train terrorists who would then pose a threat to the whole world.
