Causes of the Revolution in France since 1770

By the end of 1770, dissatisfaction with the government was growing in French society, which led the country to crisis. The government failed to stabilize the economy and this led to a revolution.
Causes:
1. Lack of money in the state treasury.
2. Exorbitant taxes levied on people of the middle and lower classes.
3. Huge external debt of the state.
4. Effective privileges for the nobility and clergy.
5. Violation of laws, corruption, abuse of power by administrative authorities.
6. Dissemination of ideas of the Enlightenment which condemned absolutism, feudal ideology.
