Chemical property of acids.

Acids are complex substances that consist of hydrogen atoms and an acid residue. Their general properties are:
1) When dissolved in water, all acids, except for silicon, dissociate into H (+) cations and anions of the acid residue.
2) Acids react with metals, which are in the range of activity to hydrogen.
3) Acids react with basic oxides and bases to form salt and water.
4) Acids react with salts of other, weaker acids if a precipitate forms or gas is released.
