Choose functions specific to blood. Transport participation in the perception of environmental influences, participation in excretion, provision of gas exchange in the lungs and tissues, the transfer of fats from the intestinal villi to the organs, provision of an immune response, provision of temperature balance, participation in food digestion.

Blood has many functions. Among them:

1) Transport. Blood, like a highway, delivers various substances to the organs and cells of our body.

2) Providing gas exchange. It is hemoglobin, which is contained in red blood cells, that carries oxygen from the lungs and delivers carbon dioxide to them.

3) Transfer of fats from intestinal villi to organs. In the intestine, substances are absorbed into the bloodstream, and only then enter different parts of the body. In fact, this is the transport function.

4) Immune. The blood contains antibodies and special cells – leukocytes, which react to foreign agents (for example, viruses) and destroy them.

5) Temperature regulation. Depending on the ambient temperature, the vessels can expand and contract, regulating heat transfer. It is the blood that carries heat.
