Circumference 1.2m. What is the length of the other circle, whose diameter is 2 times the diameter of the first circle?

To find the answer to the question, recall the number π, which in the formula connects the length with the diameter of the circle. We know that L = π * D. In the task L = 1.2 m. Since the diameter of the other circle is twice as large, then it can be expressed as 2 * D. Let us denote the length in the second case as L2. Substitute the new diameter value into the formula:

L2 = π * 2 * D = 2 * π * D = 2 * L = 2 * 1.2 = 2.4 m

We didn’t need the value of π as a number. Since the right side of the equality has doubled, then the value on the left has doubled.
