Classification of chemical reactions: reactions of compound and decomposition.

Compound reactions are characterized as reactions in which one complex substance is obtained from one or more starting materials. Examples of chemical reactions of the compound: 2P + 3Cl2 = 2PCl3; Na2O + CO2 = Na2CO3; N2 + O2 = 2NO.
Decomposition reactions are reactions in which two or more substances of a simpler type are obtained from one complex substance. An example of decomposition reactions: CaCO3 = CaO + CO2; Cu (OH) 2 = CuO + H2O.
