Colonial conquests of America in the twentieth century.

In the 20th century, the United States transformed part of its territories into states – Alaska, Hawaii. At the end of the 19th century, the Philippines and Puerto Rico were captured. In part, Cuba could also be considered a semi-colony. After the Second World War, the Philippines gained political independence. Puerto Rico received the status of an overseas possession, achieving the status of the state. Some of the Mariinsky Islands (Guam, Saipan) and Western Samoa were added to the controlled territories. However, they are not officially colonies.
