Compare the continental (continental) and oceanic types of the earth’s crust in terms of thickness, structure and composition of rocks.

The continental (continental) crust is much more powerful (from 35 to 75 km). It consists of sedimentary, granite and basalt layers. The thickness of the oceanic crust is 5 – 12 km. The upper (sedimentary) layer of the oceanic crust is composed of relatively loose marine sediments. Below it is the second layer, consisting of basalts, interbedded by rocks.
