Compare the reproduction of gymnosperms and angiosperms.

Gymnosperms have ovules, which include a megasporangium and a protective membrane. The ovules are on the inside of the leaves (scaly) and are open. It turns out that the seeds of gymnosperms are naked, i.e. no ovary. Therefore, they have such a name.
Just like gymnosperms, angiosperms reproduce by seeds, but their seeds are surrounded by a pericarp, this is such a kind of protection. And the flower, the organ of seed reproduction, puts this department of plants in the position of the most highly organized representatives of the plant kingdom.
