Compare the situation of Indians and blacks in the United States before the Civil War and after it.

As a result of the Civil War, slavery was abolished for the black population and equality was proclaimed. At the same time, racism was acutely manifested in everyday life.

The position of the Indians did not improve. During the war, the Indian tribes were divided – some fought on the side of the North, others on the side of the South. As a result, this weakened them even more. The authorities continued to destroy and expel the Indians from their homes. If in the 18th century there were 600 Indian tribes and peoples in the United States, then in 1925 there were 200 of them.
