– no teeth:
– there are two sections in the stomach, in contrast to the unicameral stomach of reptiles;
– the muscular part of the stomach grinds food, which compensates for the absence of teeth;
– in granivorous birds there is an expansion of the esophagus – a goiter, where food softens;
– in reptiles, digestion processes are slowed down, while in birds, on the contrary, food is digested very quickly and the intestines are often emptied.
