The red bone marrow is the central hematopoietic organ. In an adult, it is located in the spongy substance of all flat and spongy bones, as well as in the epiphyses of tubular bones. Consists of stroma, vessels and reticular tissue. In it, the formation and maturation of blood cells – T and B – lymphocytes, erythrocytes, lymphocytes occurs and a constant composition of stem cells is maintained. Yellow bone marrow is adipocyte cells, that is, adipose tissue with small areas of hematopoiesis. They fill the diaphysis of the tubular bones, and, if necessary, can form blood cells, for example, with blood loss.
