| Conductors with a resistance of 2 ohms and 6 ohms are connected in series and connected to a network with a voltage of 36V. Calculate the amperage in the conductor.
Given:
R1 = 2 Ohm – resistance of the first conductor;
R2 = 6 Ohm – resistance of the second conductor;
U = 36 Volts – mains voltage.
It is required to determine the current in the circuit I (Ampere).
Since, according to the condition of the problem, the conductors are connected in series, we will find the total resistance of the circuit section:
R = R1 + R2 = 2 + 6 = 8 ohms.
Then, according to Ohm’s law, the current strength will be:
I = U / R = 36/8 = 4.5 Amperes.
Answer: the current in the conductor will be 4.5 Amperes.
