Could the Cold War have been avoided? Yes or no and why?

It is unlikely that the Cold War would have been avoided. When Germany attacked the Soviet Union, Winston Churchill said that he was an ardent opponent of communism, but would render every assistance to the USSR in the fight against Nazism. And when the confrontation between the two world systems ended, it returned to its former course, and the same Churchill in Fulton said that the USSR had closed itself off from the West with an iron curtain.

So, it was impossible to avoid the Cold War, the USSR and the Western countries had very big contradictions in the issues of the post-war arrangement of the world.

Another reason for the Cold War was a sharp leap in the development of military technology during the Second World War, and the military began to play a rather large role in the governments of leading states.
