Create an expression for solving the problem and find its value: from a bag of flour weighing 20.4 kg
Create an expression for solving the problem and find its value: from a bag of flour weighing 20.4 kg, they first poured 4.1 kg, and then – 1.2 kg less. How many kg of flour is left in the bag?
The resulting expression for the problem:
20.4 – (4.1 + (4.1 – 1.2)) =?
1) Let us find out how much flour was poured in the second time, if it is known that it is 1.2 kg less than the first time, and 4.1 kg was poured for the first time.
4.1 – 1.2 = 2.9 kg.
2) We find out the total mass of flour poured, if it is known that the first time they took 4.1 kg of flour, and the second time 2.9 kg.
4.1 + 2.9 = 7 kg.
3) Find out the mass of the remaining flour in the bag. if 7 kg was taken from it, but there was 20.4 kg of flour.
20.4 – 7 = 13.4 kg.
Answer: the remainder of the flour in the bag was 13.4 kg.
