In a centralized manufactory, workers do work together while at the workplace. In a scattered manufactory, the owner of the manufactory distributes the work to various artisans, they can take the raw materials home. The advantage of a centralized manufactory is that it produces better, better quality goods, since people can learn from each other’s skills. Labor productivity is higher there. A scattered manufactory is more profitable from an economic point of view: less costs for organizing production.
