Describe one of the battles of Alexander the Great.

In 331 BC, the army of Alexander and the Persian king met near Gaugamel. The largest battle in the history of the ancient world was to take place here. The whole battle began with an attack by a Persian chariot into the center of the Macedonian army. True, the attack completely drowned out and most of the chariots were destroyed. Further, the Persian cavalry on the left flank was able to make a deep maneuver and strike at the wagon train of the Greco-Macedonian troops. At the same time, a large force of infantry struck the center and left flank of the Macedonian army. Alexander, with his cavalry forces, tried to break through on the right flank, and strike directly at Darius. His attack reached its goal, in connection with which, Darius fled in fear from the battlefield, and the left flank of the Persian army reached behind him. The right flank of the Persians did not see this retreat, and continued to press the infantry of the Macedonian army. Alexander was forced to transfer his blow to the central parts of the Persian troops in order to weaken their onslaught. Soon, part of the Persian army was defeated, and the other hastily retreated. So the Macedonian was able to defeat the huge Persian army in a decisive battle.
