Let’s characterize the first stage of the Hundred Years War. It lasted from 1337 to 1360. During this period, the French army was defeated at Poitiers. The English army was commanded by Edward – the Black Prince. The number of British troops was 6 thousand people. French – 25 thousand. The French were commanded by King John the Good. But even despite the unequal forces, the king was taken prisoner, and his troops were defeated.
