Describe the biological role of different types of reproduction, if they are observed in organisms of the same species. Give examples.

Consider a common type of reproduction among many species of insects, lizards and some other animals – parthenogenesis. Under normal conditions, animals reproduce sexually, that is, two organisms are needed to exchange genetic information. But sometimes there is no sexual partner, so the females of the species are able to produce offspring without the genetic material of the male. This concept should not be confused with hermaphroditism, since the sex of the female does not change, it is just that the zygote is formed only from the egg in animals.
