Describe the distinguishing features of sexual and asexual reproduction of plants.

Sexual reproduction of plants occurs when the genetic information of two plants is mixed. This happens during pollination. The seeds from which new plants will sprout already contain new genetic data that were created by mixing plant DNA. Asexual reproduction is the literal self-reproduction of plants. It is quite varied. Plants can multiply using rhizomes, bulbs, whiskers, shoot parts, leaves, and so on. This is also called vegetative propagation.
