Describe the external structure of mammals.

Mammals are vertebrates. The body of a mammal consists of a head, neck, torso, limbs (front and back), and a tail (not always). The limbs in some mammals are paws, in others they are wings, in others they are flippers. On the head are the organs of sight, hearing, smell, taste and the oral cavity.
