Describe the features of the stay of the Slavs in the Crimea after the emergence of Ancient Rus.

After the fall of the Khazar Kagant in the X century, the East Slavic princes managed to gain a foothold on the eastern extremity of the Tauride (Crimean) Peninsula, and settle in the city of Bospor (renamed Korchev). However, the Rusichi constituted a small minority of the local population, inferior to the Greeks and Armenian colonists. Much more Slavs ended up in Crimea as another slave – the Turkic nomadic peoples captured the Kievites and sold them to the Byzantines as slaves. After the appearance of the Italian colonies, the slave trade only increased, for merchant ships needed rowers.
