Describe the flora and fauna of Australia?

Due to the fact that Australia is the driest continent in the world, there is not a lot of vegetation. The mainland is remote from other continents at a considerable distance, so many ancient and rare species of plants and animals are preserved here. For example, eucalyptus, in different natural areas grows about 600 species.
In the animal kingdom, marsupials, such as kangaroos, and oviparous, the same platypuses and echidnas, play a special role. In addition to kangaroos, marsupials include the tree bear koala, which is similar to the marmot, an inhabitant of the desert and dry savannah wombats, in the forests – marsupial flying squirrels, on the island Tasmania is a marsupial devil.
