Describe the life cycle of a fern.

Ferns, which include the ferns themselves, horsetails and moons, have two life cycles. In the first of them, which begins after the spores enter the substrate, male and female gametes appear from them. A gametophyte is formed from them. This phase does not last long, from several days to several months (depending on the species). After the gametes join, a perennial phase begins, called the sporophyte. The sporophyte has no sex, in general, in most of the ferns, it is herbaceous and reaches a maximum height of two meters.
