Describe the natural conditions of the arctic desert zone. Explain why, despite the fact that the sun shines around the clock in summer, there is very little vegetation here.

In the zone of arctic deserts, there is a harsh winter almost all year round with hurricane winds and temperatures reaching negative marks of sixty degrees. Only in July, when the air can warm up to +3 degrees Celsius, can it rain, followed by sleet. These are zones of permafrost, ice and snow. That is why there is practically no vegetation here, and occasionally you can see mosses and lichens. Despite the presence of the sun in these parts, its energy is very weak, snow and ice do not have time to melt in a short summer, giving no chance for plants to grow here.
