Describe the process of modernization in France in the 19th century.

The modernization process can be characterized by the following phenomena:

1) an increase in the number of steam engines by 10 times;

2) the growth of the factory industry, especially cotton;

3) Not such a high rate of the industrial revolution as in England, mainly manufacturing production prevailed over industrial;

4) Paris became the center of light industry;

5) Significant growth in the number of workers;

6) Agriculture, including its transition to commodity production, played a significant role in the country’s economy.
