Describe the process of thermoregulation of the human body.

Man is warm-blooded. This means that the body temperature should remain approximately the same value under all normal conditions. The thyroid gland is responsible for this process. When the temperature in the environment is lower than body temperature, the body begins to burn organic matter to maintain the temperature. When the air temperature is high, sweating begins to cool the body and increase heat transfer. Body temperature can rise or fall only with diseases or malfunctioning of the thyroid gland.
