Mushrooms are one of the largest and most powerful transformers on our planet. They act as intermediaries between death and life, disassembling decaying, dying and dead organic matter. The fungus destroys this material at the molecular level and transmutes the complex physical forms of what is no longer living, breaking them down into their main components, which can then be used as food and nourishment for living things.
If it weren’t for fungi and bacteria, the world would be full of rotting, smelly, non-decayed animal corpses and plant material.
