Describe the Roman Empire.

The formation of the Roman Empire took place in 27 BC, at the same time that Octavian Augustus was proclaimed emperor. In addition to the emperor, power in Rome was exercised by the senate, divided into patricians and plebeians. At one time, the empire occupied vast territories from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Red Sea in the east. The Roman Empire consisted of many subordinate provinces, each of which had a governor from among the senate. An important fact is the army of Rome, which consists of legions. Thanks to her, they managed to conquer such vast territories. The split of the empire occurred in 395, after which in 476 the Western Roman Empire collapsed under the onslaught of the barbarians.
