Describe the second period of modern times.

The second period of modern times is often called the “long XIX century”, that is, from the Great French Revolution of 1789 to the outbreak of the First World War in 1914. Its features are as follows:

Industrialization in the advanced countries of Europe and the USA.
Colonial redistribution of the world, by 1914 almost all free lands, except Ethiopia, were either colonies or spheres of influence of leading powers, for example, Great Britain.
Second scientific revolution. Such inventions appeared – telephone, telegraph, camera, automobile, cinema, rapid-fire weapons, trams, bicycles, trolleybuses, steamships, airships, airplanes.
The emergence of the ideas of socialism in the middle of the 19th century (Karl Marx).
Weakening of all Asian countries relative to Europe, except Japan (reforms after 1868).
Bourgeois revolutions in France and Austria.
