Describe the sequence of dissolution of a crystal of sodium chloride in water

Processes in progress:
1) A crystal of chloride and sodium gets into the water. Ionic bonds in a crystal hold the ions together to form crystals.
2) Chlorine anions attract the positive poles of water molecules, and sodium cations attract negative ones.
3) Ions in solution cannot reunite into a crystal.
