Determine the coefficient and type of humidification in a settlement in which the annual precipitation is 1800mm per year, and the evaporation rate is 900mm. What part of Ukraine is this typical for?
Moisture coefficient is the ratio of the annual precipitation to the annual evaporation rate.
The coefficient is found by the formula:
K = R / E, where R is the average annual precipitation, mm; E – volatility, mm.
Substitute the known values and find the evaporation coefficient:
K = 1800/900 = 2.
The moisture coefficient is greater than 1, which indicates excessive moisture. In Ukraine, such a moisture coefficient is typical for the Ukrainian Carpathians (Western Ukraine).
