Determine the color of the dorsal and abdominal parts of the body in an earthworm. Explain the reasons for the different coloration of the ventral and dorsal sides.

The color of the earthworm is relatively dark, brown, brownish-gray, reddish-violet, and it is found, but rarely, – red and gray. The ventral side of the earthworm is less intensely colored. Visually, it is quite easy to distinguish between the back and abdomen of the worm. Such a difference in color is inherent in a number of animals, birds, amphibians, and not only the earthworm. This is due to the fact that these living organisms did not suffer from attacks from the ground. In this way, the worm is masked from predators.
