Determine the current strength and voltage drop across the conductor R1 of the electrical circuit

Determine the current strength and voltage drop across the conductor R1 of the electrical circuit shown in Figure 121, if R1 = 2 ohms, R2 = 4 ohms, R3 = 6 ohms, battery EMF = 4 V, its internal resistance r = 0.6 ohms.

Find the resistance of two parallel-connected resistors R2 and R3

Rp = (R2 * R3) / (R2 + R3) = 24/10 = 2.4 ohms.

Total resistance of the circuit, taking into account the internal resistance of the battery

Ro = R1 + Rp + Rv = 2 + 2.4 + 0.6 = 5 Ohm.

R1 current and voltage drop

Ir1 = U / Ro = 4/5 = 0.8 A;

Ur1 = Ir1 * R1 = 0.8 * 2 = 1.6 V.

Answer: the current in the conductor R1 is 0.8 A; voltage drop 1.6 V.
