| Determine the current strength and voltage drop across the conductor R1 of the electrical circuit shown in Figure 121, if R1 = 2 ohms, R2 = 4 ohms, R3 = 6 ohms, battery EMF = 4 V, its internal resistance r = 0.6 ohms.
Find the resistance of two parallel-connected resistors R2 and R3
Rp = (R2 * R3) / (R2 + R3) = 24/10 = 2.4 ohms.
Total resistance of the circuit, taking into account the internal resistance of the battery
Ro = R1 + Rp + Rv = 2 + 2.4 + 0.6 = 5 Ohm.
R1 current and voltage drop
Ir1 = U / Ro = 4/5 = 0.8 A;
Ur1 = Ir1 * R1 = 0.8 * 2 = 1.6 V.
Answer: the current in the conductor R1 is 0.8 A; voltage drop 1.6 V.
