| Determine the distribution of currents and voltages in each resistor if R1 = 60 Ohm, R2 = 25 Ohm, R3 = 70 Ohm. The voltage in the circuit is 48 V. (R2 and R3 are connected in parallel, and R1 is in series with them)
Resistance of parallel connection of resistors R2 and R3
1 / Rp = 1 / R2 + 1 / R3;
Rp = (R2 * R3) / (R2 + R3) = 25 * 70/95 = 18.42 Ohm.
Circuit current
I1 = U / (Rp + R1) = 48 / (60 + 18.42) = 0.61 A.
Voltage at R1
U1 = I * R1 = 0.61 * 60 = 36.6 V.
Voltage across R2 and R3
Uп = U – U1 = 48 – 36.6 = 11.4 V.
Currents in R2 and R3
I2 = Up / R2 = 11.4 / 25 = 0.46 A;
