As you know from the school physics course, useful work when lifting any load along an inclined plane can be calculated using the following formula:

Ap = m * g * h.

Let’s determine what value the useful work will be equal to, what was done when the load, whose mass is 12 kilograms, was lifted to a height of 4 meters:

12 * 10 * 4 = 120 * 4 = 480.

Let us determine what the efficiency of the inclined plane will be equal to, when it is known from the condition that the total work is equal to 500 J:

480: 500 * 100 = 96.

Answer: 96%.
