Determine the force of resistance to movement, if a trolley with a mass of 1000 kg, under the influence of a traction force of 700N, acquired an acceleration of 0.2 m / s2

These tasks: m (weight of the considered trolley) = 1000 kg; F (traction force acting on the trolley) = 700 N; a (acquired acceleration) = 0.2 m / s2.

We express the resistance force to the movement of the considered trolley from the equality: m * a = F – Fcopr, whence Fcopr = F – m * a.

Let’s perform the calculation: Fcopr = 700 – 1000 * 0.2 = 700 – 200 = 500 N.

Answer: The force of resistance to movement was 500 N.
