| The equation for the reaction of calcium with hydrochloric acid:
Ca + 2HCl = CaCl2 + H2
The amount of Ca substance:
v (Ca) = m (Ca) / M (Ca) = 160/40 = 4 (mol).
According to the reaction equation, from 1 mol of Ca 1 mol of CaCl2 is formed, therefore:
v (CaCl2) = v (Ca) = 4 (mol).
Thus, the mass of the formed calcium chloride:
m (CaCl2) = v (CaCl2) * M (CaCl2) = 4 * 111 = 444 (g).
