Copper oxide has the chemical formula CuO. When reducing 1 mole of copper oxides, 1 mole of metallic copper can be obtained. This is because the copper oxide molecule contains 1 copper atom.
The weight of pure copper oxide will be 2,000 x 0.96 = 1,920 grams;
Let’s calculate the chemical amount of the substance in this sample.
M CuO = 64 + 16 = 80 grams / mol;
N CuO = 1 920/80 = 24 mol;
