Determine the mass of water that will pour out of the glass if a body with a volume of 5m3

Determine the mass of water that will pour out of the glass if a body with a volume of 5m3 is lowered into it, the density of water is 1000kg / m3.

Since it is not possible to lower a body with a volume of 5 m ^ 3 into a glass, in the solution the word glass is replaced by a container.

Given:

V = 5 m ^ 3 – the volume of the body, which was lowered into the container;

ro – 1000 kg / m ^ 3 – water density.

It is required to find the mass of water m (kilogram) that will pour out of the container.

According to Archimedes’ law, the volume of the displaced liquid from the vessel is equal to the volume of the body placed in it. Then the mass of the displaced liquid is equal to:

m = ro * V = 1000 * 5 = 5000 kg.

Answer: the mass of the displaced water is 5000 kg.
