Determine the oxidation state of the following compounds.
CH4 (carbon oxidation state – 4; hydrogen oxidation state + 1); CaS (calcium has an oxidation state of + 2; sulfur has an oxidation state of 2); N2O3 (nitrogen has an oxidation state of + 3; oxygen has an oxidation state of 2); CuСl2 (copper has an oxidation state of + 2, chlorine has an oxidation state of 1).
