Determine the oxidation states in acids: Chloric HClO4 Chromic H2CrO4 Two-chromic H2Cr2O7

Determine the oxidation states in acids: Chloric HClO4 Chromic H2CrO4 Two-chromic H2Cr2O7 Nitrous HNO2 Pyrophosphoric H4P2O7

When determining the oxidation states of elements, it must be remembered that some elements exhibit the same oxidation states in most compounds:

hydrogen – “1+” (exceptions – metal hydrides);

oxygen – “2-” (exceptions – peroxides, compounds with fluorine).

The compounds specified in the task are not included in the list of exclusions, the oxidation states of oxygen and hydrogen in them will correspond to those given above. We find the oxidation states of other elements, guided by the rule of electroneutrality of the molecule:

HCl7+O4;

H2Cr6+O4;

H2Cr26+O7;

HN3+O2;

H4P25+O7.
