Determine the prevailing rate of population growth in South America.

After World War II, natural population growth is the predominant type of population growth in the countries of South America. Since 1950, the number has tripled and is about 422 million people. The birth rate is about 35-38 people per 1000 population with a low mortality rate of 7-15 people per 1000 population. Thanks to this, South America is the “youngest” region in the world. The share of the population over 60 years old is about 4% (in Russia – 18.5%).
