The main reasons for the peasant war were:
Increased oppression from the landlords;
Large taxes;
Aggravation of serfdom.
The greatest influence on the discontent of the peasants was exerted by the constantly deteriorating rights that were associated with serfdom. So in 1649, the Cathedral Code was introduced, which limited the rights of peasants as much as possible. Then they lost the opportunity to move to the lands of other landowners. So the peasants were turned into the landowner’s property for life.
