Determine the relative molecular and molar masses of the following substances: Al2 (SO4) 3, H2SO4, 3H2O, 5O2, 10HNO3.

The molecular weight of Al2 (SO4) 3 will be = 342 g / mol, it can be calculated using the periodic table. The molar mass of Al = 27, but there are two aluminum atoms, therefore 27 * 2 = 54 g / mol. Molar mass (SO4), sulfate ion = 96 g / mol (S = 32 plus O = 16 * 4 = 64). But here the sulfate ion is in the bows and there is written three, which means it was taken three times more (96 * 3 = 288). The mass of aluminum plus the mass of the sulfate ion in the sum = 342 g / mol. Molar mass is the mass of one mole of a substance, here one mole of Al2 (SO4) 3, so molar mass = 342.
