Basically, cities were founded on the banks of the large rivers Tigris and Euphrates. These settlements include: Ur, Uruk, Kish, Lagash, Akkad, Babylon, etc. All these cities arose in the period from 3 to 2 thousand BC. True, none of them could survive to our times. At one time they were destroyed in the course of wars or natural disasters.
