Determine which natural areas in North America have experienced particularly dramatic changes as a result of human activity. Explain why.
The nature of North America has been greatly changed by man, especially in the steppes and forest-steppes. These natural zones are located in the central part of the mainland, in a temperate and subtropical climate. The soils are chestnut and chernozem-like, extremely fertile. Natural conditions are ideal for the development of agriculture. For a long time, tribes of Indians lived here, their number was small, they lived in unity with nature. Everything changed with the arrival of the Europeans. Steppe and forest-steppe began to be actively developed and now there are areas of intensive agriculture and animal husbandry in the United States. There are practically no natural complexes left here; many species of animals, for example, bison, have disappeared.
